1. What this site is
Kafka Is Fun (kafkaisfun.dev) is a free educational platform for learning Apache Kafka through interactive simulations, lessons, labs and practice material. By using the site you agree to these terms.
2. Educational use only
Everything here — the simulator, configurations, sizing guidance and code samples — is provided for learning. The simulator models Kafka behaviour for teaching purposes and is not a substitute for testing against a real cluster. Always validate designs and configurations in your own environment before using them in production.
3. No warranty
The site and its content are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We work hard to keep the material accurate and current, but we do not guarantee it is free of errors, and we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from its use.
4. Your progress data
Learning progress, quiz results and simulator state are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). We do not require accounts and do not collect or sell personal data. Clearing your browser storage clears your progress.
5. Intellectual property
The content, design and code of Kafka Is Fun belong to their authors. You may use what you learn freely — that's the point — but you may not copy, republish or resell the platform's content wholesale without permission. Apache Kafka® is a registered trademark of the Apache Software Foundation; this site is an independent educational project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the ASF.
6. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to disrupt the service, abuse it programmatically, or use it in a way that harms other learners. That's it — we like keeping the rules as simple as the site is fun.
